I need sources for miniature figs!
I am trying to put a boardgame prototype together--I need resources for exceptionally inexpensive 20mm or 25mm plastic miniature figures, preferably fantasy races like orcs. I just need 12-15 minis, but of specific configurations. Hit me up if you know of any good sources (or are willing to donate to the cause).

You could ask on the boardgamegeek game design forum. However for a prototype I'd just use cardboard.
ReplyDeleteWho are you going to show the prototype to? If it's a board game company then I don't think they care about artwork, because if it's released they do the artwork - and in fact often re-theme the game.
Caesar Miniatures from somewhere like Michigan Toy Soldier (michtoy.com). 1/72 scale (about 22mm), the have boxes of Orcs, Adventurers, Elves, Dwarves, Goblins and Undead. $12 for a box of @30. Example: http://www.michtoy.com/item-CMF-F106-Orc_Warriors.html
ReplyDeleteYou might also want to try EM4, they have cheap prepainted orcs. http://www.em4miniatures.com and just do a search for Orc, click on the cheapies
ReplyDeleteAwesome, Robert, thanks!
ReplyDeleteReaper is doing plastic unpainted now.
